Deborah has been a safeguarding children and adult at risk trainer and consultant for 12 years and works locally, nationally and internationally. She is a qualified Nursery Nurse, Mentor and Adult Learning Tutor. Deborah has over 30 years’ experience in Social Care, education, training and the criminal justice system.
She delivers training to a wide variety of audiences on behalf of 3 national children`s charities. Deborah also delivers training on a voluntary basis for a Local Safeguarding Adult Board, in addition to facilitating talks on behalf of the Children`s Society, regarding their work. She is currently studying for a Masters degree in Advanced Child Protection.
Deborah is passionate about safeguarding training and facilitation. Improving practice involves supporting participants to feel comfortable in asking questions and working through challenges and dilemmas. Workers can then transfer these new ideas back into their workplace and feel more confident in applying them, resulting in more robust safeguarding practice.
