Steve Davies

Steven is a recently retired detective sergeant with 27 years of investigative experience across several specialist roles.  For 17 years Steven worked within a public protection environment including a Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub, Safeguarding Investigation Unit and a Public Protection Strategy Unit.  The majority of his work has involved multi-agency collaborative working with statutory and voluntary agencies.

 

As a detective and supervisor, he managed a wide range of investigations into adult and child abuse, including complex abuse and homicide, setting investigative strategies and ensuring compliance with law and policy.  He supervised the caseload of police and civilian investigators in the team, including interviewing vulnerable witnesses in accordance with Achieving Best Evidence Guidance, and the preparation of prosecution files for the Crown Prosecution Service. He was also fortunate to work in San Diego USA as part of a Police Fulbright Research Fellowship, working with the District Attorney’s Office and Police Department.

 

Steven is also an experienced and accomplished trainer and has delivered a wide range of courses to both police investigators and partner agencies during his career and holds an LLB Honours degree, post-graduate certificate in legal practice, and a BTEC Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training.
